POLICE were called to deal with a ‘suspicious package’ in Evesham which turned out to be a bag full of children’s toys.
Officers were called to the town centre yesterday morning (Thursday) after reports a black bag had been left unattended.
After investigation, it turned out to be a bag full of children’s toys which had been left outside a charity shop for donation, but had been moved.
On Facebook, South Worcestershire Cops said: “Evesham officers were called to a suspicious package in the town centre with a report of red blue and yellow wires hanging out of the bag this morning.
“Luckily brave officers managed to defuse the bomb by sliding the blocks of wood along the loops.
“Then relocated the package to outside the charity shop (where it should have been left). Crisis over. Phew!!!!!”
