MALVERN businessman Tony O’Donnell of Malvern’s Smart Actuator Company made the winning bid for a signed photograph of Paul Pogba at Pershore River Festival’s auction.

Life-long Manchester United fan Tony submitted the winning £250 bid for the photograph of French World-Cup goal scorer Paul Pogba.

Pogba scored during the recent World Cup final, extending France’s lead over Croatia to 3–1 with a strike from the edge of the penalty area after his initial shot had been blocked.

“When I heard about the opportunity to bid for the Pogba signed photo being auctioned in aid of the Pershore Riverside Youth Centre, it was too good an opportunity to miss,” Tony said.

“Whilst I’m delighted to know so many people enjoyed the Pershore River Festival, it’s even more special to know that all funds raised will be going to support the work of Debra Kurs at the Riverside Youth Centre.

Charles Tucker of the Pershore River Festival organising committee added “The Riverside Youth Centre trustees were delighted to receive the gift of a photo from the Manchester United Foundation.

“We are very happy that the photo is now going to a good local home.”
