Plumbing the heights to scoop top eBay honour

Evesham Editorial 6th Nov, 2020   0

AN Evesham business has been announced the winner of the coveted ‘Little to Large’ Award at this year’s eBay for Business Awards.

Nick Dunkley, marketplace manager at Plumbworld, is one of 11 eBay sellers to be recognised for their entrepreneurial success in the nationwide awards.

Plumbworld started trading in 1999, offering customers discounted bathroom taps and accessories. Five years on, Plumbworld opened an eBay shop as a means of selling unwanted goods.

Despite an initially slow process, manually listing each product, by the end of July 2017, the eBay store had seen considerable growth and turned over £100k in a single month. Two years later, turnover was in excess of £1million each month, and the team hope to continue growing the business in the future.

“My experience selling on eBay has been quite a journey – from the early days of selling a few items a day, to now achieving millions in sales each year,” he said.

“I am extremely proud to receive this eBay for Business Award which signifies the huge growth and success we have enjoyed over the last few years.  eBay gives us the tools that we need and a shop window to millions of buyers, allowing us to do what we do best.  Our aim is to keep driving the business forward and we look forward to working with eBay to continue on this journey.”

Each of the category prize winners will receive a £5,000 prize to invest in their business. Winners will also be granted a free one-year eBay Anchor Store Subscription and access to eBay’s Concierge, the gold-plated customer service team – with a combined value of over £15,000 – to support them in growing their businesses over the next year.
