THE PERSHORE plum princess and her attendants were invited for tea with a Wychavon District Councillor after all the hard work and effort they put into promoting the town and surrounding community.

Wychavon District Council chairman Coun Lynne Duffy invited current Plum Princesses Analeise Cooper and attendants Lilly Adams and Ella Townend to have afternoon tea with her last Friday (February 20).

Coun Duffy, said: “I have met the Plum Princess and her attendants on several occasions throughout the Summer and have been really impressed with their commitment and enthusiasm for their roles.

“I thought they all deserved an official thank you and so invited them to tea.”

The girls’ families were also invited to come along and West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin made an

appearence too, in order to congratulate and say thank you for all the work they do promoting Pershore and Wychavon.

Mrs Baldwin, added: “It was wonderful to be invited to meet with the three girls and I think they do a wonderful job helping to promote the town and was glad to be able to say thank you in person.

“The Pershore Plum Festival is one of our most important events and we are all lucky to have such civic-minded girls in these crucial roles.”

This year’s Plum Festival will be held on Monday (August 31).
