MUSIC lovers have been invited to this year’s Wychavon Festival of Brass which kicks off with a free concert before the competition begins in earnest.

This year the Wychavon Festival of Brass is playing host to more than 60 UK bands from across the UK on Saturday, October 29 at The De Montfort School on Four Pools Lane.

From as far away as Scotland in the far north to Devon in the south, these bands will congregate together in friendly competition to make wonderful music across a twelve-hour day.

TDMS offers four performance halls and plenty of fabulous, popular music which is sure to appeal to young and old alike.

For a £10 ticket Evesham residents can choose which bands they want to listen to and enjoy a pint or a pork bap in the beer tent furnished by the Fleece Inn at Bretforton. There are free tickets for under 12’s and half price entry for 12 to 18 year olds.

And next Friday (October 28) sees a free pre-contest concert held at TDMS for the benefit of local music-lovers.

Avonbank and Langley bands will perform from 7.30pm in the Championship Section Hall. This will give concert goers a sneak preview of their twenty-minute contest programme to be performed the next day as well as a host of other popular music.
