Plea to help family of man killed in crash

Evesham Editorial 16th Jul, 2021   0

AN EMOTIONAL bid to support the children of an Evesham biker who died on his way to work has already raised more than £8,000.

Tomasz Kormicka died last Friday (July 9) after his Yamaha motorbike was involved in a collision with a VW Touran on the A44 at the Salters Lane junction in Lower Moor, Pershore.

The 41-year-old was on his way to work at Severn Waste Services when the crash happened and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He leaves behind a wife Agata, and two children aged six and eight and family friend Marcin Fuja has been inspired to set up a Go Fund Me page in his memory.

“A tragic accident took the life of Tomasz Kozmicka,” he said.

“As if things aren’t difficult enough for this family, Tomasz’s wife is fighting cancer (glioblastoma multiform tumor) and has already struggled with it for the past few years.

“This family needs your help. As we all know life is so cruel and unfair taking our beloved ones too soon leaving holes that will never be filled.

“But when you’re living with cancer already, with two young ones to support and reassure, every little really will help,” the caring friend added.

Police are still seeking answers following the fatal crash.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: “We are appealing for information following a collision on the A44 on Friday (July 9).

“At around 7am on A44, Salters Lane junction Lower Moor, Pershore a collision between a Yamaha motorbike and VW Touran has occurred.

“Sadly the 41-year-old rider of the motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene, his next of kin have been notified.”

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Lawton on 101 reference 66i 9July21.
