Plea to find cousin who may be in Vale

A CARING daughter has appealed for Evesham residents to help in her search for her cousin and reunite her mum with her nephew.

Julie Davies from Newcastle upon Tyne has made the plea to end a decade of trying to find the missing member of her family.

Her mum’s brother Derrick Percival met the baby’s mother while on his national service with the RAF near Evesham.

Julie only knows the woman was called Chris and the couple came back to Newcastle for a short while.

Sadly the relationship did not work out and Chris returned to Evesham but later discovered she was pregnant.

Julie believes the baby boy was born between 1948 and 1953 at Evesham Hospital and after the birth Chris contacted Julie’s grandmother to tell her of the new arrival.

She said her grandmother made the journey to the Vale to see the new baby.

“For as long as I can remember, my mum has said ‘I wish I had a way of tracing my nephew’ especially as her brother Derrick died suddenly when he was only 28.” Julie told the Observer.

“It would mean the world for my mum who is 82 years old and her other brother who is 84 years old to find their nephew.” she added.

Anyone with information is asked to write to the Observer at the address on the letters page, e-mail [email protected] or call 01527 588635 and we will pass the details on to Julie.
