Play your part in helping Acorns in the new year

ACORNS Children’s Hospice is appealing for seasonal supporters to help refresh stock at the charity’s shops by donating unwanted Christmas gifts.

The charity needs £27,000 per day to provide its care and support services, with the charity’s network of more than 50 shops across the West Midlands playing a key part in helping to raise those funds.

In the past year, the charity has cared for more than 780 children and 1,220 families, including those who are bereaved.

Gary Pettit, head of retail operations at Acorns, said: “Don’t leave your unwanted gifts gathering dust in the back of the cupboard, give them a new lease of life by donating them to Acorns. That celebrity cook book you never wanted may be perfect for someone else.

“Donating your unwanted gifts to Acorns shops is a great way to end the year. You might even need to clear space on your shelves or in your wardrobe for the presents you do love.

“So why not donate your preloved items too? By doing so you’ll be helping us continue our work caring for children and families,” he said.

Anyone who would like to donate their unwanted Christmas presents can take them along to their local Acorns shop.
