AN EVESHAM pup has had a pint named after him from an acclaimed brewery to celebrate the first year anniversary of a Harvington pub.

Paddy, a six-month-old German Shepherd Collie cross from Ireland, joined up with his new owners Claire Carson and Ian Latimer, landlady and landlord of The Golden Cross, from Evesham Dogs Trust on St Patrick’s Day.

Miss Carson said: “We’re so pleased to have Paddy. He has such a delightful and pleasant nature about him.

“We’ve really enjoyed our first year at The Golden Cross. We took on a premises that was closed, with a colourful history and renowned for never being open and turned it into a thriving business.

“We now have a reputation for fabulous food at reasonable prices, a great cellar of fine wines and excellent beers and lagers.”

Simon Foster, business development manager at Wychwood Brewery said:

“Paddy’s Pint is a deep golden coloured bitter with a citric and earthy hop aroma flavour. It also has caramel malt notes.

“We’re looking forward to adding it to our selection.”
