Pictures: Crowds flock to Inkberrow village green to enjoy Lockdown Art Fair

THE crowds flocked to Inkberrow village green on Bank Holiday Monday to enjoy a day long Lockdown Art Fair.

The event was organised by Stella Harris and her husband John, himself a successful artist.

As well as giving artists an opportunity to display their lockdown artwork it also gave a platform for Inkberrow WI’s centenary project ‘100 trees for 100 years’.

“We are really happy with the way it went,” said Stella.

“The weather was kind to us and there were people coming along all day long.

“People were buying and although some artists didn’t have their works for sale they said they really got a boost from the interest shown in them and a couple of commissions were taken.”

Celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Inkberrow WI have been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, however a top raffle prize of a painting by John Harris of his vision of how their 100 trees will look in 20 years saw brisk trade on the WI stand.

All funds raised from the raffle will go to support the future development of the project.
