AN EVESHAM Explorer Scout was recently awarded two top scouting awards.
Peter Lamb worked for almost four years to achieve the Young Leader Mission Belt and the Chief Scout Platinum Award.
As a young leader, Peter supported 1st Honeybourne Cub Pack, running activities with the children every week.
At the same time, he took part in the Scout Association’s Young Leaders training scheme.
The training also required Peter to fulfil four missions, which involved him increasingly in the planning of the Cub programme.
Peter utilised his Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, which he had previously gained through Scouting, and added further tasks to gain his Chief Scout Platinum Award.
His chosen topic areas centred on international issues such as global equality and language, both of which he explored with the Cub Pack.
Through Peter’s award, the Cubs also learnt about changing aspects in the community, which included a visit to a care home.
A number of camps with other Explorer Scouts and Cubs completed the award.
