RESIDENTS of Pershore can find out more about their local organisations at a Community Fair on Saturday, December 7 at the Town Hall.
Organised by Liberal Democrat district councillors Charles Tucker, Dan Boatright Greene and Jodi Arnold, the event runs from 10am to 12noon with all proceeds donated to Pershore Foodbank.
Organisations taking part include Pershore Town Choir, Friends of Avon Meadows, the Riverside Centre, Pershore Carnival, and the National Flood Forum. The councillors will be in attendance to answer residents’ queries.
Coun Charles Tucker said: “As councillors we felt it would be good to give a bit of help to some of our local organisations – and bring a bit of Christmas cheer. Each stall will be doing their own thing such as selling concert tickets and seeking new helpers, so there will be plenty to stimulate interest. And of course hot coffee and cake too.
“Having the National Flood Forum participate is so appropriate as we see floods affecting large parts of the country. Although Pershore is fortunate to have a flood bund, we must realise that floods are getting more severe all the time and complacency is dangerous.”
