THE PEOPLE of Pershore came together on Remembrance Sunday to remember those who have given their lives for their country.
Members of Pershore Royal British Legion, veterans, serving members of the Armed Forces, dignitaries, political representatives, along with youth groups, set off from the leisure centre and marched through the town to Pershore Abbey for a Service of Remembrance and wreath-laying at the War Horse Memorial in Abbey Park.
Following the service, the parade assembled once more and marched back through the town, where the salute was taken by Deputy Lieutenant of Worcestershire, outside the town hall.
The tower of Pershore Abbey was dramatically illuminated in red from Saturday to Monday evening to mark the national period of Remembrance that honours members of the Armed Forces who have died in the line of duty.
