PERSHORE’S MP has offered her to support to a free debt service being launched in the town.

Based at Pershore’s library on Church Street, the service will provide one-to-one support for about 20 to 30 people who have serious debt issues.

Advice will be offered by CAP Debt Centre manager Richard Hogarth and Neil Sprague, along with a specialist team of advisors based in Huddersfield.

The town’s MP Harriett Baldwin was also joined by Evesham’s MP Nigel Huddleston at the launch event last Friday (November 20).

“As an MP I sometimes come across people with serious debt problems and this will provide a very useful support mechanism for those in most need,” Mrs Baldwin said.

“The best advice is to make sure that you don’t ignore your debtors and Richard and his team will help clients to re-structure their debt and build budgets.

“I am happy to help to publicise this service and spread the word to local people.

“We both offer advice free at the point of access and I am sure that if I come across anyone with a serious debt issue, I will refer them to Richard and his team.”
