A NEW exhibition at Pershore’s No 8 is showcasing the works of a popular photography club.

A set of 35 stunning prints from around a dozen members of Evesham Photo Group is currently gracing the walls of the community art centre on High Street.

The range of images both in colour and black and white encompasses natural history, record, pictorial, landscape, portrait and creative photography.

It’s the first time the group, which re-branded itself from Vale of Evesham Camera Club over the summer, as people thought its purpose was all about cameras and not the art photography, has displayed members’ works since 2021.

Club secretary Jane Trevorrow told the Observer: “The photos have been selected to create a balanced exhibition rather than biased to any one author, subject or style.

“They have all been taken by amateur photographers who have been inspired by coming and joining our friendly club.”

Evesham Photo Group offers members a chance to meet with fellow photographers and share tips and advice in both photography and digital processing.

They have a programme of speakers who come to share their techniques and photography and members can submit photography to be assessed.

The main event of the year is a national photography competition held in March, which attracts more than 5,000 entrants.

The club, which has about 50 members, meets every Monday at 7.30pm at Friends Meeting House in Cowl Street, Evesham from September to May.

Admission to the exhibition is free and runs until Wednesday, October 8.
