Pershore community hall bid wins support from residents

Evesham Editorial 23rd Jul, 2017   0

AMBITIOUS plans for a new community hall in Pershore were backed by 90 per cent of residents who packed out the Town Hall for a meeting on the proposals.

At a Town Hall meeting on Tuesday residents heard about proposals put forward by Pershore Town Council for a brand new community hall in the town.

Council chiefs for the past few months have been looking into options for a new hall following the loss of St Agatha’s Hall some years ago and the imminent loss of another hall.

The two options put forward by the Town Council were put on display at the meeting on Tuesday where residents backed the one option for a new hall to be built on Town Council owned land off Defford Road.

Questionnaires and a copy of the presentation have now been made available for residents who were unable to attend the meeting.

They are available on the Town Council’s website www.pershoretowncouncil.gov.uk.

A drop-in session is also being held at the Town Hall on Saturday, July 29 from 10am until 12pm for residents who have questions on the plans they would like to ask council chiefs.
