Pershore Co-op targeted by thieves

Evesham Editorial 29th Jan, 2016 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

A COOPERATIVE store in Pershore was broken into yesterday (Thursday) in an attempt to steal cash from the ATM machine.

The intruders forced their way into the shop, on Racecourse Road, through the metal shutters, at about 11.45pm. They then had to flee the building after setting off the alarm when they damaged the cash machine while trying to get money from it.

Det Insp Paul Hardman said: “The offenders were disturbed by the alarm going off and unable to get anything, but they did cause damage to the building and the machine.”

A dark saloon car was seen in the area and police are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything around the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to contact officers on the non emergency 101 number quoting incident 741s of 28 January, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
