Pedalling up the pounds for charities

CYCLISTS used pedal power to raise cash and take in the Vale of Evesham landscape at the annual Blossom Trail Bikeaway .

More than 100 cyclists saddled up for the annual event from Hampton Ferry in aid of for local charities including the Pershore Unit of St John Ambulance and the Evesham Vale Community First Responders.

Organised by the newly-formed Bikeaway Ventures group, cyclists of all ages journeyed around the famous AA sign posted Blossom Trail.

Departing under the watchful eye of Henry Sandon MBE, President of Pershore St John Ambulance, the staunch supporters amassed a total of 5,111 miles, enough to make a single trip to China




Tony Haines, chairman of Bikeaway Ventures said: “Despite the forecast of rain and a late spring, we were thrilled that the blossom started to bloom and so many people arrived to support us!

“We are truly indebted to everyone who gave up their valuable time and grateful thanks to all at Hampton Ferry who made the event possible.”
