Peace and goodwill

A CHRISTMAS message from Coun Fred Kaler, Mayor of Evesham

CHRISTMAS is a time for families and friends to share the best and for everyone, to think about our fellow man and woman and extend the spirit of peace and goodwill.

We are fortunate to live in a town with a proud history, and of making the best of everything, Evesham has such a tremendous community spirit and resilience.

We are blessed with talented people in the community, the arts and in the voluntary sector.

In these changing times it is so easy to forget what the Christmas message is about, it is a message of hope for a better future and, let us not forget the isolated, the vulnerable people in our community both young and elderly.

We must not forget members of our community who are ill and we hope better health comes to you soon.

Reflecting over the past three years as deputy mayor and two years as Mayor of Evesham, I have been privileged to see first hand the contributions of organisations, individuals and community volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the year to assist others.

At this time the Mayoress and I wish to take the opportunity and express our desire that peace and hope will be more than just aspirations but that it will become a way of thinking for our community in the years to come.

And we wish you all the best for a Happy Christmas and a healthy and peaceful new year.
