CARING members of Bretforton Ladies Hockey Club pulled on their Brave Bird pants to help raise awareness and support for women going through crisis, abuse and addiction
The team train and play at The De Montfort School and comprises local women from all walks of life and includes two England superstars.
Their ‘Pants Power’ show of support for the Brave Bird Club embraced the sisterhood and to helped fund-raise through the sale of Brave Bird Pants who provide vital funds to support women going through crisis, abuse and addiction.
With many stories of facing their fears circulating between them, the solidarity within the team is greater than ever.
Stories were shared from recognising a failing marriage whilst pregnant yet knowing deep down, it was best for the child to separate, to exiting a mentally and physically abusive relationship taking no possessions for themselves or their children.
One player said: “I realise now “I am braver and stronger than I ever thought possible. I can now own my story and write a brave new ending too’.
Member Louise Alderton said bravery means to her ‘Doing what needs to be done despite my fears!’ while Lisa Davis said, ‘Bravery shows a very positive vibe, and it can feel incredible’.
With a positive spin on feeling brave, the ladies all pulled up their Brave Bird Pants to encourage other women to do the same showing camaraderie to all the brave female unseen everyday she-roes.
“It’s amazing the effect it can have physically and, importantly, mentally to know you are not alone,” a spokeswoman said.
“Teamwork spreads across communities, uniting them in the power of brave.
