HUNGRY Evesham residents enjoyed a flipping good time at a pancake morning which raised £640 for charity.
Evesham Baptist Church held a hugely enjoyable Fair Trade event on Saturday which was well supported with queues for pancakes and standing room only at times.
A staggering 14 pints of pancake batter were needed to keep up with demand and the impressive sum was raised for Traidcraft Exchange, which helps growers and food producers in some of the world’s poorest communities.
Mayor and Mayoress of Evesham attended the event with Nigel Huddleston MP while Ros Kane of Evesham Methodist Church provided an extensive stall of Traidcraft gifts, crafts, jewellery, foods and household products from all over the world.
Both children and adults enjoyed quizzes, competitions and a craft activity and the home-made cakes and refreshments went down very well.
