THE COUNTDOWN to Christmas will continue at Evesham Methodist Church when Avonbank Brass Band take to the stage this December.
Christmas Crackers will hit all the right notes from 7.30pm on December 14 at the venue which proved such a hit with music lovers this spring.
Under their musical director Colin Herbert, the band is busily putting together a fabulous programme of seasonal music designed to shoo away the chill of a winter’s evening.
Colin, known for his quick wit and repartee, has given the Band strict instructions— he wants the church to ‘crackle’ with the warmth of Avonbank’s good-humoured and mellifluous playing.
So he is really putting them through their paces in preparation for what promises to be a wonderful evening of brass music.
“Of course, there will opportunities for the audience to join in. What Christmas concert would be complete without some traditional carols?” Colin said
But, like every Christmas Cracker, the concert will also host a few surprises intended to delight all who attend!
The concert is free so all anyone needs to do is to turn up, nab a seat and be ready to join in. There will be a retiring collection and a raffle, with many prizes being supplied by the band membership.
“Avonbank is really looking forward to renewing its acquaintance with all those who attended their spring concert-and to getting to know a few more faces too,” Colin said.
“Christmas is the season to be jolly, and friendly and to make music.”
