Offering businesses a helping hand to recover

Evesham Editorial 10th Dec, 2020   0

COUNTY chiefs are launching a new mentoring project to help local businesses grow and recover.

Experienced mentors from Worcestershire Ambassadors will visit local businesses to offer expertise and guidance.

The initiative is aimed at driving the county’s economic recovery forward.

County Councillor Ken Pollock, whose portfolio covers the economy and infrastructure, said: “The launch of this new mentoring programme is really positive news for businesses in Worcestershire.

“During such challenging times, it’s increasingly important to support the needs of local businesses to help them recover and build resilience for the future.”

Chair of Worcestershire Ambassadors, Julia Williams, said: “This is an ideal opportunity for some of our members to give something back to the local business community during this time of uncertainty.

“Many of them will have encountered similar problems in growing their own businesses or in their professional lives and are ideally equipped to provide sounding board advice and support.”

All mentors will be trained and carefully matched to work with people based on their business sector, needs and experience.

The programme, which is being supported by the University of Worcester, is expected to launch in early 2021.
