AN ACCLAIMED artist will perform an array of modern tunes for people suffering with dementia in Pershore.

Ruby Swift will perform at Pershore Number 8 Community Arts Centre on Wednesday (February 15), as part of Wychavon District Council’s continuing series of music workshops.

Ruby will run a fun and interactive singing session, where participants will improvise, discover and reminisce through a range of popular contemporary songs.

Jenny Davis, arts development officer at Wychavon, said: “I’m delighted these workshops and all of our musicians have committed to such an entertaining programme that will continue all the way into 2017.

“The feedback we’ve been receiving shows the workshops have a very positive impact on people by reducing isolation, getting them involved and helping them to make new friends.”

The workshop takes place from 1.30pm to 3pm and costs £2, which includes a hot drink and light refreshments.
