Offering a chance for growth

Evesham Editorial 8th Jan, 2015 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

A PERSHORE-based firm is offering Worcestershire businesses the chance to grow in 2015 with a development loan.

Based near Pershore, Impetus is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and one of just 20 in the UK.

Up to £100,000 Impetus loan provision is available per organisation and examples of supported county businesses include a forensic science company, a coffee based vending services company and a recycled packaging manufacturer.

A business that turns used whiskey barrels into garden furniture and wine racks, a marketing company, a bottled water company, a plastic recycling business and a company selling data management systems have also been helped by Impetus.

Fund manager Steve Williams said: “If you own or you’re involved in an established regional business, you may have an opportunity or strategy for future growth including a clear picture of the finances you need for this.

“Many loan requests even those that show clear progression to a profitable return can still be turned down by banks, building societies and other lenders. As a Social Enterprise, Impetus is here to fill that gap and we’re best able to help local SMEs in

Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin with 10 to 60 employees or even more.” he added.

Although a number of Impetus loans have already been granted in the county for 2014/15, resources are still available for the

remainder of the financial year.
