A RALLYING call has been made to Evesham residents to have a heart and support a host of events in aid Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab.

The charity is holding a range of events to raise cash throughout the year including a race night at Hampton Working Men’s Club next Saturday (February 28).

The popular annual event is always well supported and organisers are hoping for continued and new support.

One of the organisers, Coun Gerry O’Donnell, said: “The cardiac rehab facility is flourishing and plans are

progressing to incorporate other conditions such as stroke and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, as well as encourage referrals from GPs for ‘at risk’ patients.

“The aim is to undertake a prevention role for local people and build a bespoke facility that can be a centre of excellence in rehabilitation,” he added.

The charity race night is on Saturday February 28 at 7.30pm and entry is £7 for non-members.

A buffet and raffle will also be held on the night, call Coun O’Donnell on 01386 442886 or Hampton Working Mens Club on 01386 442719 for more information.

This summer’s Evesham Vale 10K race in July will be raising cash for the cause as Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab is the official charity of this year’s event.

The race will be held on July 12 from 10am.
