QUEEN Elizabeth II’s funeral will be screened at both Evesham’s Regal Cinema and Pershore Number 8.
Millions across the globe are expected to watch the coverage today (Monday) with the funeral service itself set to begin at 11am.
And while broadcasters have cleared their schedules for this historic event, the town’s arts venues have decided to open their doors in a bid to bring people together.
Both the Regal and Number 8 will open at 9.30am and there is no need to book for the free event. Number 8 will then close for the rest of the day when the funeral has ended as a mark of respect.
An arts centre spokesperson said: “We thought it appropriate to cancel our originally planned programme for the day as a mark of respect.
“Instead we will be screening the BBC’s coverage of the funeral so that the community can come together to watch the broadcast.
