Northern Link Road bridge installed

Rob George 3rd Jun, 2022   0

MAJOR improvement works in Pershore have taken a big step forward with the installation of a new bridge crossing over the railway.

Part of Worcestershire County Council’s scheme to construct the Pershore Northern Link Road, the works have taken place under a number of closures of the railway line, to install the new bridge beams and construct the bridge deck. Works will continue on the new bridge with resurfacing work set to get under way in mid-June.

Once complete, the new Pershore Northern Link Road will provide a link between the A44/B4083 and B4083 Wyre Road roundabouts north of Pershore.

Coun Marc Bayliss, county council cabinet member for Economy, Infrastructure and Skills, said: “The bridge is a key factor to completing the Pershore Northern Link Road, which will help to tackle congestion, improve journey time reliability and support economic growth and development in the area.”

The process of installing the bridge has been captured on a time-lapse camera, available on the project page on the council website.
