Normal service resumes at Vale libraries

Evesham Editorial 7th Dec, 2020   0

LIBRARIES in Evesham and Pershore will extend the services available to Vale bookworms after the county emerged out of lockdown last week.

Customers will be able to browse shelves and borrow books using self-service kiosks, return books in person, pre-book public computers and pre-book a desk in the library for study and/or wi-fi access

The mobile library service will also resume and county council chiefs hope to bring further services back into libraries in early 2021.

Book return dates have been extended to December 31 and no overdue fines will apply until January 1.

Social distancing and hygiene measures will be in place and the number of customers allowed into the library at any one time will be managed.

Browsing time will be limited to 20 minutes and computers and desks will be cleaned thoroughly after each use.

Normal book reservation services will resume and customers will be able to request books from any open library in Worcestershire.
