Nominate your community heroes for a prestigious award

Evesham Editorial 20th Nov, 2017 Updated: 20th Nov, 2017   0

NOMINATIONS are now open in the search for the Vale’s community heroes for Wychavon’s prestigious Community Recognition Awards 2017.

Back for another year, the awards give those who have volunteered, coached or helped others in the district a chance to gain well deserved recognition for their efforts in helping to make Wychavon a better place to live and work.

The team behind the annual awards are looking for inspirational stories from people of all ages who have helped to improve their neighbourhood, club, society or community.

The categories for 2017 are: Young Volunteer award, Volunteer award, Arts Recognition award, Sporting Hero award, Community Project award, Community Group award, Enabling Healthy Lives award and the Lifetime Achievement award.

A glitzy awards ceremony will take place in March next year where the winners will be revealed.

Tracy Grubb, Community Development Officer at Wychavon District Council, said: “We rely on volunteers to make things happen, so it’s only right that they should be acknowledged for all the time that they have put in to making Wychavon a better place to live and work.”

To nominate an individual, organisation or community group to win an award from the categories listed complete a nomination form and return it by 5pm on Friday, February 2 2018.

Nomination forms are available at www.wychavon.gov.uk/recognitionaward.
