EVESHAM’S MP Nigel Huddleston has revealed his delight at being readopted as the Conservative Party candidate for the town at the next general election.
Mr Huddleston was confirmed in the role after a meeting of the Mid Worcestershire Conservative Association earlier this week and will fight the newly-named Droitwich and Evesham seat.
The poll, which must be held by January 2025, will be Mr Huddleston’s fourth election after first winning the seat in 2015. At the 2019 General Election, he won a 28,018 majority.
His adoption means both Evesham and Pershore’s seats will be fought again by the incumbent Conservative MP after Harriett Baldwin revealed her intention to stand in November.
Candidates from other parties will continue to be appointed in the run up to the election being called to join Coun Dan Boatright, the Liberal Democrat candidate for West Worcestershire.
