Evesham Editorial 30th Mar, 2019   0

VALE MP Nigel Huddleston was among 40 local residents who took to the streets to keep Evesham tidy as part of the Great British Spring Clean.

Green-fingered residents dedicated a total of 80 hours and cleared 75 large bags of waste from the Evesham town centre, focusing on The Rynal, Albert Road, Briar Close and the town itself on Saturday (March 23).

Mr Huddleston took to the pick alongside town councillors Julie Tucker and Michael Elliman and Wychavon District Council member for Evesham South Coun Matt Snape.

The event was the latest in series of successful picks which has seen 700 large bags of rubbish removed from the town’s streets during 40 litter picks.

And following a busy day of keeping Evesham tidy, residents could relax with a cuppa at Wallace House.

The next event will be in Bengeworth on April 13.
