AN EVENING of music and song in aid of Arthritis Research UK will be held at Fladbury Church.

A concert for a summer’s evening will be held at the historic church tomorrow (Saturday) from 7pm to raise cash for the cause.

Soprano Jayne Swann tops the bill alongside Marie Randall (contralto), tenor Charles Renshaw, David Thompson on bass and John Elliott and John Wilderspin on piano.

Tickets are £15 and include a complementary concert programme and canapes with wine/juice at the interval.

EVESHAM residents are being invited to learn more about their neighbours with a free lunch at the town’s Methodist Church.


The Big Lunch is a national event, encouraging people around the country to join up and meet their neighbours and will be held at the church around 12.30pm on Sunday (June 7).

Members of the Methodist Church have invited their neighbours in the nearby apartments and houses, as well as other friends to join them for lunch this coming Sunday.

It’s the latest in a line of outreach events being held by the church to welcome and say thank you to local people.

The Big Lunch will be held around 12.30pm after morning service and discussions as part of Environment Sunday.

EVESHAM Town Council is on the hunt for local people to make their voices heard and become town councillors.

Following the recent elections, the Town Council has vacancies in the Little Hampton ward and has invited local people to apply for the roles.

Councillors will consider each application and vote on which applicant should join the council, any individuals ‘co-opted’ onto the council will have the same rights as elected councillors.

Anyone who is interested in being considered for the role will need to complete an application form and a co-opt form available at www.eveshamtowncouncil.gov.uk/elections

The deadline for applications is July 1 and all applications will be considered during a council meeting on July 13.

THE MAY draw of Pershore’s popular Pride loyalty card scheme has once again produced two lucky winners.

Mrs Upward from Pershore scooped success to win £25 of Pride vouchers while Mrs C Taylor of Elmley Castle won £30 of Isabella Rose vouchers to celebrate the opening of another business for the town.

Pershore Chamber of Trade thanked Isabella Rose Lingerie for kindly supporting Pride’s May Draw.

“And of course a big thank you to all the visitors and residents of Pershore who participated in Pride during May,” a chamber spokesperson added.

The next draw will be held on Friday, June 26.
