A POPULAR repair café is returning to ImaGine help fix electronic goods.

The loyal group of experts will be on hand to offer advise on broken radios, clocks, computers, printers and bicycles.

The session will take place on Saturday, February 14, from 10pm to 2pm and will be followed by a two hour IT support drop-in centre which will feature a literacy tutorial, hardware advice and web design for local businesses.

PERSHORE MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed a £7million cash boost for projects to create new jobs across the county.

The money, which has been added to the Local Growth Fund and will be managed by the Local Enterprise Partnership, is to used on investments over the next six years.


Funding will be given to expand Malvern Hills Science Park, to increase the rollout of superfast broadband and for projects to help keep traffic flowing around the county during times of floods.

Cash will also be put towards building new college facilities to create extra courses with a focus on engineering – it is hoped 600 new apprenticeships will be created.

Harriett Baldwin said companies such as Malvern Instruments, Morgan Motors and QinetiQ were set to benefit.

“This Worcestershire Growth Deal is great news for local businesses and shows the Government is investing in its long-term economic plan,” she added.

A CARING Evesham business presented its chosen charity with a cheque for £1,202 following a series of fund-raising events.

Basepoint Evesham presented Malvern Special Families with proceeds from events such as a bake sale, summer fair, sponsored 10k run and ‘Top of the Pots’ preserve making competition.

Malvern Special Families specialise in providing safe, stimulating and fun social opportunities for children and young people with disabilities.

Elaine Beaumont, Centre Manager at Basepoint Evesham, said: “It’s always a nice feeling when we’re able to help out by providing funds towards a good cause.

“Malvern Special Families has been our nominated charity for two years and do so much for children, young people and their families in Evesham.”

ASPIRING singers of all ages are being invited to join the choir at Pershore Abbey.

Director of Music Michael Pegg is keen to welcome students and other young adults, particularly those with tenor and bass voices.

Taster sessions will be held during the choir’s hour long rehearsals at 5.30pm on Thursdays and there are no auditions.
