New survey on policing in Pershore after previous concern from residents

A residents’ survey on policing in Pershore has been launched after a previous questionnaire raised concerns in July.

In a previous consultation, residents voiced disappointment in local policing, with respondents calling for officers to be more visible and accessible, and more proactive in tackling anti-social behaviour.

The new survey – launched on Monday, October 9 – has been funded by West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), John Campion.

Participants to the last survey will be consulted again, alongside other members of the community, by research and analyst company, SMSR, who will be getting in touch over the phone and at face-to-face sessions.

The PCC will also host a follow-up community conversation event in Pershore on November 15.

PCC John Campion said: “I am committed to bringing around change in Pershore and since I visited the town, I have used all the powers available to me to support and challenge the Chief Constable on progress.

“This latest survey will be an opportunity for residents to reflect on the past six months and speak openly about local policing in the area and whether they have seen improvements.

“I look forward to hosting another Community conversation in Pershore in November and once again speak to and listen to residents about their experiences, trust and confidence in West Mercia Police.”
