A THRIVING Vale bulk container has welcomed a new man to the helm of the popular business.

Dave Cooper has taken over as managing director of Matcon from Charles Lee, who has decided to step down after 17 years to spend more time with his family.

Mr Cooper first joined the Vale Park West based firm in 2002 and worked in engineering before a spell in sales and business development.

He then joined the senior management team as operations director in September 2008 and has been at the heart of Matcon’s management and strategic development for several years.

Mr Lee has been with Matcon since 1991 working in sales, engineering and general management before he became managing director in 1997.

“He has provided great vision and led the company through periods of dramatic change and together with a superb team has achieved sustained growth and profitability for Matcon,” said Mr Cooper. “We are very happy to confirm that Charles is not retiring and will remain on the senior management team as executive director giving us the continued benefit of his

knowledge and experience.” he added.

Matcon specialises in intermediate bulk container systems for powder handling and mixing and attract business from the food and pharmaceutical sectors around the world.
