NEW lighting has been installed in Evesham’s Abbey Park illuminating the way for walkers through the greenery.
Solar powered lights have been fitted along pathways throughout the park, to help make it a ‘more attractive space’ to walk in the evening.
The scheme also links Crown Meadow and the riverside to the lighting of Evesham’s Bell Tower and churches through the Enlighten Evesham creative trail.
It has been driven by Evesham Place Board and funded by Wychavon’s share of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, part of the government’s Levelling Up agenda.
Tom Tarver, chair of Evesham Place Board, said: “Evesham’s Abbey Park is a gem in our town and a popular place to visit during the day. This new light trail has now improved the appeal and visitor experience during the evening too, making the park even safer and more attractive.

Councillor Richard Morris, Executive Board Member for Economic Growth and Tourism on Wychavon District Council, said:
“The new lighting scheme is a fantastic addition to Evesham’s Abbey Park, creating a beautiful effect that complements existing lighting schemes already in the area. They really are something that must be seen.”
Evesham Place Board was set up in 2022 to help deliver the vision for the town set out in the Evesham Investment Prospectus. It is made up of passionate members of Evesham’s community, included businesses, and supported by Wychavon.
