New lab offers more chance for science at St Egwins

Evesham Editorial 22nd Apr, 2019   0

STUDENTS at St Egwins CE Middle School in Evesham have been cooking up experiments in their newly-refurbished science lab.

School chiefs wanted an efficient, inspirational yet functional learning space and designs and layouts needed to optimise teaching and learning as well as maximise space to accommodate growing student numbers.

Science is a valued commodity offered at St Egwin’s and the school said it was important to ensure the space reflected this.

The solution came with the help of PR Associates Ltd, Neal R Shipley and Co Ltd and John Knight Interiors who had input from initial design through to installation including all utilities, decoration, ceilings, lighting and flooring.

Head of science Rachael Sadler, who was integral in the planning of the refurbishment of the lab at the Worcester Road school, said her new space was an exciting place to be teaching.

“The mixture of fixed and flexible benching accommodates various teaching styles, allowing both practical and theory work to be easily completed,” she said.

“Both of the laboratories here are now set to serve the future generation of learners.”</
