THE DRIVING force behind an Evesham charity which offers heart attack victims a route back to a healthy and fulfilling life said the move to a new venue will ensure it can thrive for many years to come.
Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab (EVCR) marked a decade serving Vale residents by moving to its new home at the town’s leisure centre in January and EVCR chairman Gerry O’Donnell said the charity would broaden its work in the next few years.
As well supporting those who have suffered a heart attack or undergone surgery back to a ‘normal’ life, it will provide a dedicated space for the community and individuals to address the health outcomes related to heart health, obesity, diabetes, mental health and well-being.
The charity chief hopes to encompass wellbeing activities and focus on both primary and secondary prevention, targeting those people who have either suffered an event or are at risk of developing a chronic condition.
