New COVID advisors now offering support across Worcestershire

NEW COVID Advisors are now in place across Worcestershire to help provide advice and guidance during the pandemic.

The new advisors are now out and about on the streets, offering help to residents and business to ensure that current Covid-19 regulations and guidance are adhered to.

They are being deployed across the county, as necessary, to meet local need and to provide support to any areas of concern.

Coun John Smith, Chairman of Worcestershire’s Health and Wellbeing Board, said: “I’m pleased that we now have some of the advisors on board to help support our local communities and businesses during these difficult times.

“There’s a lot of mis-information out there and the role of these advisors is to ensure that people have the correct information to make informed choices.

“They have generally received a positive response as everyone has recognised the benefit of being reminded to maintain a safe social distance and wear a face covering when required to.”

13 Advisors have been fully trained and are now in position, with a view to having 20 in total to cover the county. It is a rapidly changing situation and the experiences of the Advisors on the ground will help to direct where additional support is needed.

The team will help promote the Here 2 Help support available and provide advice to businesses to ensure workplaces are safe.

The new roles have been created in partnership between the six county district council’s and are supported by Worcestershire County Council, thanks to funding from central government.
