A NEW bursary to aid young people with special educational needs or disabilities on their journey into work is available
Worcestershire County Council is launching their new £1,000 Supported Internship Bursary for those partaking in the Supported Intership Programme.
The tie-up with Worcestershire’s Local Enterprise Partnership will aid learners with essentials like PPE, uniforms, IT equipment and travel support.
Coun Marc Bayliss, cabinet member for economy and skills said he was proud to be part of the scheme:
“The Supported Internship Bursary demonstrates our dedication to the county’s future workforce, and championing employment inclusion.
“We take pride in our commitment to support local incentives that can help boost the growth of the local economy and give people the best chance to succeed in life.

“We want to ensure young people in Worcestershire get the best opportunities to achieve and to be able to gain crucial skills without barriers.
“By providing financial support for essential work-related needs, we aim to ensure that that those young people have the resources they need to succeed in their internship and beyond.”
