THE COUNTDOWN to Christmas began for members of Churches Together in Evesham with a celebration concert at St Peter’s Church in Bengeworth.
The event starred the Salvation Army South West Fellowship Band, who will be leading worship in Wells Cathedral for Age Concern on December 13, Offenham First School’s choir and young soloist Naomi Blowers.
An afternoon of music was held to raise funds for the Vale School’s Sensory Room appeal. The school needs to raise £30,000 for this project and receives no Government funding.
In total the concert raised £1,500 towards the cost of some of the equipment so the children can enjoy the benefits in the coming year.
Stuart Brown, secretary of Churches Together In Evesham said: “It was a wonderful afternoon and the church was full to overflowing as the enthusiastic audience were entertained by some great music, beautiful singing and community carol singing.”
