A SPECIAL concert celebrating music from the Czech Republic, UK and Finland will be held at St Peter’s Church in Inkberrow on Thursday, August 22.
The evening of music, wine and snacks falls on the 100th birthday of František Pošta (1919-1991), a revered Czech double bassist.
There will be an hour-long concert of music by top composers such as Antonín Dvorák, famous for his New World Symphony, and Bedrich Smetana, famous for the Czech nationalist piece Ma Vlast or ‘My Land’ .
Bringing the music to life will be David Heyes on double bass, soprano Sarah Poole and Lauretta Bloomer on piano.
The event will begin at 7.30pm at St Peter’s Church and entry is free.
