HOTEL bosses at Evesham’s iconic Wood Norton Hotel received a boost on National Hospitality Day with a visit from town MP Nigel Huddleston.
The annual celebration of the brilliant and resilient pubs, bars, hotels, restaurants and foodservice outlets has even more importance after a difficult year for so many businesses, business owners and employees who faced closures and restrictions during the Covid lockdowns.
Mr Huddleston, who also serves as Tourism Minister in the government, visited several local hospitality venues including the Northwick Hotel and the Wood Norton.
In addition, he visited Holland House in Cropthorne – a retreat centre offering food, accommodation and courses for yoga and mindfulnes. Holland House was also in receipt of funding from the Culture Recovery Fund earlier this year, a fund set up to help businesses survive through the pandemic.
“National Hospitality Day gives us all a reason to remember the difficulties this sector has been through and how amazingly they have adapted to different regulations, and got through the lockdowns,” Mr Huddleston said.
“It’s so important we now lend them our support because so many jobs are sustained in this sector.
“I would encourage my constituents to use this as an excuse to go out, eat out, take a break or do something a bit different and visit one of the fantastic hospitality offerings we have in Worcestershire,” he added.
