EVESHAM’S MP Nigel Huddleston donned his trainers and put his best forward to celebrate the 12th anniversary of Parkrun UK.

The Mid Worcestershire MP joined Evesham runners on Saturday (October 8) to take part in the global phenomenon, where he ran 5km around Hampton Ferry.

“I really enjoyed the parkrun and look forward to joining them again in the coming months with my family,” said Mr Huddleston.

“What I particularly liked was there were people of all ages and abilities participating. Not surprisingly, there were some young and fit people getting around the course very quickly, while others were enjoying a gentle jog or walking the course.

“We all enjoyed the exercise and friendly atmosphere,” he added.

Coun Gerry O’Donnell, executive board member for community development, culture and sport at Wychavon District Council, said “We’re keen to promote physical activity as it promotes many health benefits together with a healthy lifestyle.
