MP signals support for climate cause

SPORTS Minister and Evesham MP Nigel Huddleston has kept the fight against climate change in focus by displaying the sea signalling flags for WE flying on his desk.

Mr Huddleston visited Fladbury Primary School in November where he was presented with desk flags for China, America and the UK, all with the sea signalling flags for WE flying below.

He promised youngsters he would display them on his desk, to help get the message to Alok Sharma, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and all the cabinet.

The flags spell out the message “WE, America, China and the UK know that WE have an Existential Emergency and are Changing Course to Avoid A Catastrophy”.

Campaigner David Train said: “In 1962, the American statesman, Dean Acheson, in a speech at West Point said

“Great Britain has lost an empire and has nor yet found a role”. WE have been searching for that role ever since.

“With civilisation and humanity facing a far greater threat to its existence than we faced in the Second World War our role now stares us in the face. It is to bring all the world’s leaders on board to “Save Our Home On Our Blue Planet”.

“At COP26, China and America agreed to work together on the bio-climate emergency. It is vital for the future of humanity that they do so.

“With Alok Sharma remaining president of COP26 for the next year, we have a huge opportunity to help, by inspiring Alok Sharma to give them the soft power tools to do the job, developed in Nigel’s constituency over the last thirty years,” he added.
