EVESHAM’s MP Nigel Huddleston united with his fellow Members of Parliament in a solemn act of planting a Remembrance Cross in the newly established ‘Constituency Garden of Remembrance’ at the Houses of Parliament.

This meaningful idea, spearheaded by Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons, serves as a poignant reminder of a century of Remembrance and extends heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated service personnel from every corner of the United Kingdom.

The ‘Constituency Garden of Remembrance’ is open to MPs, government ministers, as well as representatives from the Commonwealth and British Overseas Territories, providing them with an opportunity to plant a cross as a tribute to the sacrifices made by our brave service personnel.

Nigel Huddleston MP planted a cross alongside those from his colleagues from all corners of the country to ensure that the valour and sacrifices of our armed forces are eternally etched in our collective memory.

On Remembrance Sunday, the chimes of Big Ben will echo through the capital as it strikes eleven times, signalling the commencement of the Two-Minute Silence at 11am.

This act harmonises with bells tolling across the country and around the world, uniting in remembrance of those who gave their lives in the two World Wars and subsequent conflicts.

Nigel Huddleston MP said:

“I extend my thanks to the Speaker for the honour of representing Mid Worcestershire by planting a cross in the Constituency Garden of Remembrance.

“We must remember and honour the sacrifices that our valiant armed forces made—and continue to make—to protect our freedom and our nation.

“I am sure many of my constituents will join me in observing the Two-Minute Silence this Sunday.”
