EVESHAM MP Nigel Huddleston joined the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Matt Hancock to celebrate the publication of the Culture is Digital Report.
The publication of the report culminates the work of the Digital Culture project which was established in April 2017 to explore the relationship between technology and culture.
The report examines how the two sectors can work together to increase public engagement, unleash the creative potential of technology and boost the capability of cultural organisations.
It announces an ambitious framework for how cultural organisations can implement new technologies to ensure the UK remains a global leader in culture.
Mr Huddleston attended the launch of the report at The National Gallery. The event showcased examples of digital culture, featuring immersive installations that use the latest technology including holograms and virtual reality.
“I was delighted to be able to celebrate the publication of the Culture is Digital Report and the innovative and exciting work displayed at the National Gallery was extremely impressive,” he said.
“This important report emphasises the vital connection between culture and technology and highlights how the two can collaborate to reach new audiences and bring the UK’s world-renowned cultural organisations into the digital age.”
