A VALE Explorer Scout recently achieved the top award for Young Leaders, the Mission Belt.
When Oliver Latham was looking to fulfil the volunteering section for the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, he decided to join the 1st Evesham 1st Hampton Beaver Colony.
Here he became part of the adult leadership team, providing fun activities for the Beavers. After completing the Bronze Award, Oliver decided to stay, joined Scouting and became an Explorer Scout Young Leader.
Almost four years later, Oliver has completed all the modules of the Young Leader training scheme and has gained many life skills, including First Aid.
The training also required Oliver to fulfil four missions, which involved him increasingly in the planning of the Beaver programme.
