THE EVESHAM Living Well event last week was attended by members of the public and local political representatives, including the Mayor of Evesham.

Evesham South county councillor, Michele Hulme, joined visitors to explore the wide range of local services available from organisations that dedicate their time to helping local people live happier and healthier lives.

Councillor Hulme said: “It was great to see so many organisations in one place explaining how they each offer help to individuals and families and also making new connections between them to spread their health, wellbeing, support and volunteering messages.”

“I picked up a lot of valuable information as well as submitting myself for a free NHS Health Check courtesy of the health professionals aboard the NHS van.

“With a career in the NHS myself, I appreciate the importance of looking after our own health as best we can.

“The Evesham Living Well event and the county-wide Healthy Worcestershire campaigns are aimed at helping us do just that. It was reassuring to know my free NHS Health Check confirmed I’m fighting fit.”

“There were numerous organisations available for advice about all aspects of health and wellbeing.

“Also present were representatives from the three charities that are being supported through the mayor’s charity appeal – Caring Hands, Vale Volunteers and Evesham Dementia Action Alliance,” add the mayor.
